WHAT WE OFFER

MOHS MICROGRAPHIC SURGERY

MOHS surgery is a surgical technique used to treat skin cancers on the face, neck and hands. The surgeon removes a thin layer of tissue to examine under the microscope until the tissue is free from cancer cells. The advantage of MOHS surgery is that the surgeon is able to verify that all the cancer cells have been removed at the time of the surgery, reducing the chances of additional treatments or surgery. MOHS Surgery is done on an outpatient basis using local anesthetic. On the day of surgery we may ask our patients to stop certain medications, wear comfortable clothing and bring something to pass the time. It is also very hard to predict how long the surgery may take so we ask that you clear your schedule and bring food and drink along with you as well.
